Junkhouse set to perform reunion show at SMF Kick-off;
Hamilton’s Upper James strip becomes a major part of the Spring Music Festival
Hamilton- International recording act, Junkhouse set to play their first-ever public performance in more than 5 years at Seventy Seven Night Club as part of the Kick-Off for the Spring Music Festival.
"I can't believe that this is happening. I mean, having one of the city's most successful and longest-lasting bands as our kick-off headliner, I couldn't ask for a better night. The mere fact that these guys have agreed to reunite after nearly 5 years is reason to celebrate." Says Rapiti, obviously excited about the show.
As announcements seem to be coming out every day, a number of Upper James venues and merchants have opted to join The Spring Music Festival, which will take place in May 8, 9, 10, and 11th 2003, according to Marketing Director, Rob Rapiti.
“It’s refreshing to see the bustle and growth currently being experienced in the Upper James area” says Rapiti of the obvious expansion on the Upper James stretch. Rapiti goes on, “There are more than 50 businesses between Lincoln Alexander Expressway and Rymal RD./Hwy 53. For an area that size, there are few areas within the city that can boast the same. Heck, with direct highway access, I’m seriously considering moving my business there”.
Currently we have the final installment of the SMF “Pre-Festival Showcase” slated for Saturday April 12th at the BP’S Lounge (Boston Pizza) at Upper James and Hwy 53. It will be a scaled-down sneak-peak at some of the bands who will be playing the festival, and featured on the Spring Music Festival Soundtrack. They include local rocker’s The Dubay Band, and the up-and-coming Ben Thompson Band.
Other already confirmed (Upper James) participants include CompuSmart, the Whistling Walrus, and Hamilton’s premier skate and snowboard shop, Evolushun.
