Rules
&
Regulations |
 |
|
In our
attempt
to
create a
real-life
environment
for the
performers,
we have
created
a
‘minimum
criteria’.
Each
band
must
draw no
less
than 20
people
to each
performance.
At the
door,
each
patron
will be
asked
which
band
they are
there to
support
and when
each
band
gets to
20 fans,
we will
stop
counting.
We
believe
that if
you
cannot
bring at
least 20
people,
your
band is
not
ready
for a
major
competition
like the
Breakout
Band.
The
organizer's
have
invested
a great
deal of
time and
money in
gathering
the
prizes
and we
are not
looking
for
bands
that are
not
serious.
Plus,
who
wants to
play in
an empty
club?
This
also
enables
you to
perform
in front
of a new
crowd
who may
not have
heard of
you
before. a new
crowd
who may
not have
heard of
you
before. |
 |
|
If you
fail to
bring at
least 20
people,
you can
still
perform
but will
be
disqualified
from
advancing,
although
you can
perform
as many
events
as you
wish,
so long
as you
abide by
these
regulations.
Admission
is only
$10,
with a
portion
of the
proceeds
being
given
back to
the
winning
band at
the
finals.
If the
pool of
funds is
greater
than
expected,
we will
create a
second
and
third
place
consolation
prize.
Further
details
will be
announced
at the
media
launch
in April
2010. |
 |
|
The
contest
is
available
to all
bands,
songwriters
and
musicians
who are
able to
adhere
to the
aforementioned
guidelines
and able
to
perform
in a 19+
licensed
environment. |
 |
|
All
Semi-finalists
are also
required
to have
at least
one good
quality
recording
provided
to the
organizers
no later
than
April
1st,
2010 for
re-broadcast
on Y108
FM. **
If you
do not
have a
quality
recording
by this
time,
you will
not be
featured
on
Y108’s
indie
program
“Get
Hammered”.
If you
wish for
us to
refer
you to a
festival-recommended
studio
that
fits
your
budget,
please
ask your
Breakout
Band
rep. |
